All Spice Crumb Muffins...oddly addictive.

I wasn't really sure what I wanted to make, so I asked me sister, and she wasn't sure either. All she knew was that she didn't want cookies or chocolate. And, oddly, neither did I. So, since it's Fall, I decided to make these All Spice Crumb Muffins from Dorie Greenspan's book, "Baking from My Home to Yours." They must have been super delicious, because I made two batches in less than a week. My mom gave me the idea to serve them with a compote of quince, apple, dried cranberries, and cinnamon. It was a good pair, but I preferred them all by themselves!

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins

Last week, my dad bought a couple of Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, from Portos in Glendale. They were really good, but just a little bit too sweet for our liking. My sister asked me if I could make her some Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, so I started looking for a good recipe. Then I remembered that Dorie Greenspan had a recipe in her book "Baking from My Home to Yours." This recipe was really good, the only complaint that my sister had was that it didn't taste "lemony" enough. So, next time I'll tweak the recipe just a bit.

Delicious Corn Muffins

Everyone in my family loves cornbread! "Savory or sweet, what should I make?" I found myself thinking this afternoon. Since I couldn't make up my mind (and no one in my family could either), I decided to be on the safe side and make this mildly sweet, full-flavored cornbread with fresh corn niblets. This recipe comes from Dorie Greenspan's "Baking From My Home to Yours," and was a real winner!
