Call 'em Conchitas or Conchas either way, their delicious.

If you've read my previous blog entries, you'll know how much I love making Mexican bread! I was surprised to see this recipe for Conchitas/Conchas in Nick Malgieri's book, "Bake!" However, he didn't call them by their traditional name, he called them Mexican Buns made with brioche dough. So, I decided to give them a try. And, I'm so glad that I did, because they were perfect! The topping was so yummy too!

Marbled Chocolate Banana Loaf

This quick bread left me completely speechless. Like I've mentioned before, I'm not a fan of "banana" breads or desserts, but Dorie Greenspan didn't fail me...she was right, you can barely tell that the white swirl is actually banana! Thank you Dorie for publishing, "Baking From My Home to Yours!"

German Chocolate Cupcakes...just because!

Please excuse the quality of photo; but, there hasn't been much natural sunlight here in California. However, rest assured, these German Chocolate Cupcakes were delicious! The cake was light and moist, and the frosting was full of coconut, toasted pecans, and a rich buttery flavor.

I whipped these cupcakes and frosting up the night before, just because! But, decided these can be the official "celebration" cupcake of the day for singer/songwriter, Matt Morris, and his Tweegion for winning the Sophie Radio Challenge at a San Diego radio station. ;)
