Tortuga y pan dulce aka "The Turtle" and a sweet roll
Calvitos, again
Piña y queso crema croissant aka Pineapple & cream cheese croissant
Although I bake and bake like there is no tomorrow, I still like to purchase some baked goods every once in a while. Especially now that I am writing my graduate thesis, I am short on time for creating tasty morsels. However, when I do purchase baked goods, I expect them to be made with good quality ingredients, fresh, and have a great taste. I, like my whole family, am very choosy when it comes to any baked goods, especially when it comes to Pan Mexicano/Mexican Bread.
The Pan Mexicano pictured above was purchased at "La Panaderia San Fernando" located at 313 South Maclay Avenue, in San Fernando, California. This place has so many different pan dulces/sweet breads and pastries. One thing that sets this Mexican bakery apart from the others is that every single thing they make actually tastes great! No kidding! There empanadas/turnovers, Elotes, Tortugas, Novias, etc...are some of my favorite sweet breads. So, if you're ever in that area, check them out!
