Rosquillas de San Blas

Even though it's not February 3rd, the fest day of the Roman Catholic saint, Saint Blaise (San Blas), I could not resist to make my version of this Spanish biscuit bearing his name. Rosquillas de San Blas are traditionally formed in the shape of a wreath and are eaten throughout Spain on his feast day. The tradition started in Andalusian region of Spain, and spread throughout the region as the years went by. These biscuits are mildly sweet, and have just the right amount of spice. They're perfect with a cup of coffee on a cold winter day. I will definitely be making these on February 3rd, but instead of serving them with coffee I am thinking a good Mexican Hot Chocolate would be the perfect accompaniment for these little treats.
